Sacred Cat of Burma's temperament

Sacred Cat of Burma is the typical homecat: interactive, affectionate, comunicative and human-addict. He is capable of rare gestures that would surprise even the most experienced ethologist.

This cat has a very special relation with his owner. Be ready to have a second shadow following you around the house and keeping a close eye on your moves.

Many specimens are very communicative and call their owner with gentle meow. Do not be surprise if you will find yourselves talking to your cat: with a Birman it is extremely easy to fall in little madnesses like this...

The Sacred Cat of Burma loves to be cuddled and to stay on your lap. Although, some of them could prefer to stay close to you instead of a direct physical contact. Even if there are many common traits in the breed, in fact, every Birman is different from the others, like every person is different from the others!

Many breeders say boys are sweeter than girls, but the exception always proves the rule.  In my personal experience, I think no male could give me the same things Fantāsia does.

This breed is particularly fond of water. If trained early, the Sacred Cat of Burma takes his grooming and his bath eagerly. Fantāsia goes in the shower box  spontaneously when I am in there and puts her front paws in a waterful sink when our pond turtles are there during their pool cleaning.

In the mating season, female don't caterwaul too much and male usually do not mark the house. I know many breeders who keep a tomboy inside their house with no problems. But again, individual variables are unpredictable!

To speak about eating habits, this cat is more a gourmand than a big eater: He likes refined foods and he likes them to last for long. Dry food must always be available.

What cannot be described about his character, though, are his endless sweetness and his charm. And if you will learn about his sweetness only leaving with him, you will fall for his charm at first sight.

But the magic we proud owners feel loving him goes beyond any word.

And must be discovered personally.
