Kalista represents a dream coming true. Yes, because I have been thinking about a silver birman for two years.

It seemed impossible to find. I contacted all over the world all those few breeders who breed this new color: in South Africa, in England, in Sweden, even in New Zeland... But there always seemed to be some problems coming up.

In the end, thanks to two friends of mine who breed here in the North of Italy, I got in touch with Susanne Neumann and Brigitte Heintorf. They  are both German and breed silver Birmans in their Country.

Kalista comes from Brigitte's cattery and stole my heart at once.

It took me a look at her picture and I felt her mine. I did not know if she would have liked me, nor if she would have liked her new home here in Italy. But unexpectedly it was love from the start.

Her real name is Queen Kunterbunt, which means Multicolored Queen, but I wanted to add something personal: Kalista - which means The most beautiful in ancient greek.

I went to Germany to fetch her in an out-of-the-way place in the South of Hannover. And the journey was great. On my flight back, with Kalista on my lap despite the prohibition of a hostess, I realized  how sweet she was.

And when we got home she stole everybody's heart.

Of course, Fantāsia was not that happy at first, but now they are great friends.

Kalista always searches for physical  contact with us. As soon as we sit somewhere or lay on the bed, she comes. And she streches herself close to any part of our body. It does not matter if it's an arm, a leg or a foot. The important thing is to be stuck with us.

And she purrs. She purrs non-stop. You touch her and there she goes - prrrrrrr. And while you do that, you feel her quicksilver fur slipping through your fingers.

Well, it's TRUE LOVE.

But how couldn't be? Look at her!
